Event Thirteen:
United Nations seeks support for African's famine victims.
In 2007, the United Nations reported that in Africa there has been no progress. In Sub-Saharan Africa to be exact, not a single country is on track to achieve the "international agreed target" for cutting in half the extreme poverty that exists. This goal was set to be met by 2015, and since not a single country is one track, more than likely, this goal will sadly not be met.
According to The Chronic Poverty Research Centre, and from what they have calculated, is that even if the Millennium Development Goal is achieved, there will still be nine hundred million people living on less than a dollar a day.
